Overview

The ASI Bodyboard Wise Elite-Advanced Bodyboarder level identifies skills at this level, representing the most experienced bodyboarders with top-tier ability in 6ft+ waves across diverse global breaks.

Aim

Demonstrate ability to control the board, perform and link advanced level bodyboarding manoeuvres, in surf over 6ft (2 metres).

• Beach, reef break, point, river mouth breaks
• Surf over 6 ft (2 metres)

• Fins (flippers)
• Arm leash

Skills and Knowledge 

Pre-requisite  

• ASI Bodyboard Wise Advanced Bodyboarder

Surf Safety 

• Able to swim 200 metres
• And able to swim from surf break back to shore (distance depends on where you are bodyboarding)

Bodyboarding Environment

• Predict surf conditions based on weather conditions and geographical land formations.

Equipment

• Identify how to customise your bodyboard and accessories based on your personal attributes, skill and the conditions

Bodyboarding Skills

• Identify characteristics of the advanced level bodyboarder
• Identify techniques to generate speed and power
• Identify methods to negotiate advanced waves
• Identify safe take-off techniques
• Identify correct exiting of waves and wipeout techniques
